Suzanne Golas, csjp is the “founding mother” of WATERSPIRIT in 1998, continues to serve as the director. Her background includes efforts in education, peace and justice work, and church renewal. She has served in leadership positions in the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, an international, Catholic religious order committed to peace through justice. Suzanne also serves as the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace’s non-governmental organization (NGO) representative at the United Nations where she concentrates on sustainable development and environmental issues, specifically water. Suzanne participated in the Earth Literacy program at Genesis Farm, Blairstown, New Jersey. She attended the Fourth World Women’s Conference in Beijing, China, 1995, the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa in August, 2002 and the UN Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen, December 2009.
Frank McCann, MA, CSJP-A is Director of Just Neighbors, an interactive poverty awareness program created by Family Promise. Family Promise is a national non-profit that organizes congregations in local communities to shelter, feed and provide services to temporarily homeless families, enabling them to achieve sustainable independence. Frank is an Associate with the congregation of St. Joseph of Peace, serving on the Seeds of Peace core team on peace and non-violence. He has presented workshops at conferences nationally, and has served on the national steering committee of Let Justice Roll, a campaign for a living wage. He is a trustee for IRATE and First Friends, an organization hat visits immigration detainees and lobbies for comprehensive immigration reform. Frank has been involved as educator and organizer in peace and justice ministries since 1971, and has concentrated on peace and justice education, having facilitated learning and advocacy through Just Neighbors, the Just Faith program, Bread for the World Christian Foundations for Ministry and at Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY. He has a B.A. in Communication Arts from Seton Hall University and a MA. in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary. Frank will offer courses to Zen ministers.
Fr. Terrence J. Moran CJSP-A, is an Associate of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. He has given retreats and workshops on theology and spirituality throughout the United States and in twenty five other countries. Fr. Moran has worked in parish ministry, taught theology at St. John,s University, New York, and for nine years was the Director of Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese of Paterson, NJ. He is currently on the staff of the Quellen Spiritual Direction Formation Program, Mendham, NJ and the Chair of the Coordinating Council of Spiritual Directors International. In addition to his teaching and preaching ministries, Fr. Moran serves as a consultant to religious congregations and is writing a book on Margaret Anna Cusack, a 19th century Irish theologian and social activist.
Dr. Kieran Scott, Ph.D is a professor in the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education at Fordham University. He completed his doctoral studies at Columbia University, New York. His expertise is in foundational theology, ecclesiology, the theology of marriage, philosophy of religious education and curriculum theory. He has published widely in religious journals and educational periodicals. His recently published books include, Perspectives in Marriage,3rd ed. (Oxford ) and Sexuality in the Roman Catholic Tradition (Rowman and Littlefield). He has taught at St. Bonaventure, LaSalle University and Villanova University. Dr. Scott has lectured widely through out the United States and Europe.
