West Virginia Zen Dojo
Rev. Greg Tensho Noble, Sensei with his students
West Virginia Zen Dojo, located in Charleston, West Virginia, is led by Zen Priest and Dharma Holder Greg Tensho Noble, Sensei, a Zen student of Roshi Paul Genki Kahn. Noble Sensei has been studying the martial arts since 1985 and holds the rank of 5th degree black belt Aikikai. He is chairperson for both the Aikido World Alliance technical committee and the AWA national test committee.
Noble Sensei has trained in Rinzai Zen for several years prior to training in the Zen Garland lineage. Noble Sensei received Denkai, becoming Zen Buddhist Priest in October 2009.
West Virginia Zen Dojo offers introduction to Zen practice, zazenkai (one day retreats), weekly Dharma talks and retreats with Roshi Paul Genki Kahn. Rev. Noble has been giving Precept Talks and will perform his first Zen Garland Vows Ceremony (jukai) on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The current Dojo schedule is:
